I
arrived at FPC on August 1, 2004, after having most recently served as
Associate Pastor of The Lower Providence PC in Eagleville, PA.I was born in
Overlook Hospital, Summit, NJ on November 29, 1969. My
undergraduate study was at William Paterson University, where I
received a BA in Sociology in 1993.
I was married
to Jenny on June 11, 1994. Our daughter Anna is almost nine years
old, and her sister, Rebecca, is six (and a half). They are
the ones who really run the church!
I attended Princeton
Theological Seminary, earning a Master of Divinity in 1997.
Growing up, I did not
have any church affiliation. I came to discover the Presbyterian
Church (USA) during my college years while working as a summer camp
counselor at Johnsonburg Presbyterian Camp. I was particularly
drawn to the diversity of Presbyterians and to the representative form of
church government. I also met Jenny there while we were both
serving as retreat leaders.
While many of my
generation ("Generation X") regard themselves as "spiritual but not
religious," I do not regard the two terms as mutually exclusive.
I believe in fostering Christian growth and community by offering
multi-generational ministry that respects tradition while also acknowledging
our "postmodern" culture.
My favorite passage of
the Bible can be found in Mark 5:1-20.
I conclude this sketch
by saying I'm a very diehard Philadelphia Phillies baseball fan and I write and
perform original music for acoustic guitar. We are currently preparing to
release a CD benefiting our 2007 Appalachian Service Project trip. To hear the music now on PureVolume.com please click
