Our first meeting for the Fall '11 is September 6th at 7 P.M.
in the Community House library.
All meetings thereafter will take place on the first Monday of each month ... same time and location!
We will be studying the Gospel According to Luke, chapters 16-24.
Please bring a Bible.
(we use New Revised Standard Version, but can adapt to any version)
This group has been meeting for at least eight years. Newcomers are always encouraged to attend!
We have so far concentrated on
-
women characters in the Bible. They are sometimes neglected because of brief references or later misinterpretations of their roles and importance.
-
several of the shorter, less well known books of the Bible (ie: Jude, Philemon, Ruth, and even Daniel).
-
viewed specific videos concerning Who Wrote the Bible (PBS series), biblical history, documentaries on particular biblical figures, and more!
Our study curriculum at times makes appropriate parallels with current affairs reflecting biblical themes we are studying at the time.
Perhaps best of all, we get to know one another quite well! We are certainly at ease pursuing biblical study, asking questions, and setting forth answers on our own.
Interested? Come on out and give the group a try!
Please contact the church office with any questions.
